Phil had the honor and privilege of preaching the last day of the Missions Conference at our home church in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, in March this year (2024). It was a joy to see many friends we haven’t seen or spent time with in several months. The encouragement we receive from our church in Mexico is always very strength building. It’s especially good to hear from them about their regular prayers for us and God’s work through Covone Ministries.
Pastor Vidal Videa, our pastor of this church in Mexico, is a missionary who came from Nicaragua over 40 years ago to central Mexico to begin church-planting. Now, the main church he founded in the city of San Luis Potosi is called Iglesia Bautista El Buen Samaritano. The purpose of the missions conference is for the people to “faith promise” to send support to the eight mission churches outside the city, in more rural areas that have no churches.
“You renewed your care for me…”
Paul, Philippians 4:10
God led Phil to dive deeply into Philippians 4:10-20, focusing on verse 10, “I rejoiced in the Lord greatly because once again you renewed your care for me. You were, in fact, concerned about me but lacked the opportunity to show it.” These ten verses were packed with truths about the church (the people of God) obeying the Lord in supporting mission efforts to take the gospel to the nations.
Speaking of that, thank you to all of our ministry partners who “renew your care for…” us and Covone Ministries as we take the gospel to people who have no access to it. It’s such a blessing to be called to GO, and we thank you for being SENDERS and PRAYER WARRIORS!
