Yasir is mentally handicapped, can’t read, and doesn’t go to school. He lives at a rural ranch outside of our city, and he comes alone to our Bible study every Friday there. He feels too old to be in the children’s group, so he stays with Phil who teaches the adults.

Yasir loves Phil so much because Phil spends time with him, talks with him, and prays for him! Yasir helps us load and unload chairs, our tent, table, and storage boxes every week, and treasures “paletas or galletas” (suckers or cookies) in return. We are asking God to help Yasir understand that he can know Jesus personally, and to protect him from the harm of gangs, drugs, and alcohol addiction.

”For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭
